The desert hotel was a place of secrets and mysteries. It was located in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by sand and mountains. The only guests who stayed there were those who wanted to escape from the world, or those who had something to hide.
One day, a man and a woman checked in at the hotel. They said they were married, but they did not act like it. They barely spoke to each other, and they avoided eye contact. They stayed in their room most of the time, only coming out for meals or to use the pool.
The hotel staff noticed that they always wore sunglasses, even indoors. They also noticed that they had matching tattoos on their wrists: a snake and an apple. They wondered what they meant, but they did not dare to ask.
The next day, another guest arrived at the hotel. He was a tall and handsome man, with a charming smile and a confident attitude. He said he was a journalist, looking for some inspiration for his next article. He took an interest in the couple, and tried to strike up a conversation with them.
They were polite, but distant. They did not reveal much about themselves, or why they were there. The journalist sensed that they were hiding something, and he became curious. He decided to investigate them, and find out their story.
He followed them around the hotel, and observed their behavior. He noticed that they seemed nervous and tense, especially when they saw him. He also noticed that they had a suitcase that they never opened, and that they kept locked in their room.
He wondered what was inside it, and what it had to do with their tattoos. He suspected that they were involved in some kind of crime, or that they were running away from something.
He decided to sneak into their room, and look for clues. He waited until they left for dinner, and then he used his lock-picking skills to open their door. He searched their room, and found the suitcase under their bed.
He opened it, and gasped at what he saw. Inside the suitcase, there was a pile of money, and a gun. There was also a note that read:
"We did it. We got away with it. We are free now. Let's start a new life together."
The journalist realized that the couple were bank robbers, who had pulled off a daring heist. They had used the snake and apple tattoos as a code name for their plan: The Garden of Eden.
He felt a surge of adrenaline, and excitement. He had found the perfect story for his article. He took out his phone, and snapped a picture of the suitcase.
He did not notice that the couple had returned to their room, and had seen him through the window. They recognized him as the journalist who had been asking them questions. They realized that he had discovered their secret, and that he was going to expose them.
They rushed into their room, and confronted him. They pointed their gun at him, and demanded that he delete the picture, and give them his phone.
The journalist refused to comply. He said he was doing his job, and that he had the right to report the truth. He said he was going to call the police, and turn them in.
The couple panicked, and shot him in the chest. He fell to the floor, bleeding profusely.
They grabbed their suitcase, and ran out of the room. They got into their car, and drove away from the hotel.
They left behind a trail of blood, and a dead body.
