I have flown over NYC and the Statue of Liberty countless times, and thought I had captured every possible shot of our city’s guardian.
That all changed on the night of November 11, 2021. As we approached Lady Liberty, I happened to peek through the plexiglass footwell of the helicopter. Seeing the light diffusion and the grandeur of the scene, I immediately fumbled to adjust my camera settings.
The moment lasted less than a minute, but the image is now forever immortalized on the blockchain.
A great honorary New Yorker once said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” So get out there and take your shot. Who knows where it will lead you, but you’ll only find out by taking that first step.
