Damselfly is the first fully on-chain and fractionalized image, it was minted on Feb. 16, 2013.
On Feb. 16, 2013 a developer created the first on-chain image. The image stored was called Damselfly, the goal was to host the image forever on the blockchain without the possibility of it ever being erased.
The 2MB Damselfly image was converted to BASE64, Namecoin values only allow for 512 bytes, meaning the full BASE64 file was split into 400 character long strings creating a Singly Linked List. In total the image is dividend into 5470 shares, each share is a File Part (fp/) containing part of the full BASE64 encoded image.
