A Small Light portrays the remarkable true story of Miep Gies, the brave, young woman who risked everything to shelter the Frank family for two years during World War II. Miep was also the one who found Anne Frank’s diary and preserved it so that she and Otto Frank could later share it with the world. The series title comes from something Gies said late in her life: “I don’t like being called a hero because no one should ever think you have to be special to help others. Even an ordinary secretary or a housewife or a teenager can turn on a small light in a dark room.” \n\nThe eight-part limited series, starring Bel Powley as Miep Gies and Liev Schreiber as Otto Frank, premieres May 1st on National Geographic TV and streams May 2nd on Disney+ and Hulu . #ASmallLight
