Curupira- a mythological figure of Brazilian folklore, is thought to be a supernatural trickster and fierce protector of nature, preying on poachers and those who would exploit the forest and it's inhabitants. His appearance has been said to resemble a young child with fire-colored hair and feet turned backwards, which he uses to create false tracks meant to lure and bewilder unwitting hunters, until they are completely lost in the vastness of the forest.
