In the ancient land of Hyperborea, dragons were revered as gods. They were said to have been created by the Great Spirit in the time before time, and given control over the elements: fire, water, earth, and air. The people of Hyperborea built great temples to the dragons, and made offerings of gold and precious stones to appease them.
But the dragons were not content with mere offerings. They demanded human sacrifices, and the people of Hyperborea, fearing for their lives, complied. Every year, a virgin was chosen from the village and taken to the temple to be devoured by the dragon of fire.
One year, a young girl named Kiya was chosen as the sacrifice. She bravely accepted her fate, knowing that it was for the good of her people. But as she was being led to the temple, a strange thing happened. A great storm raged overhead, and a bolt of lightning struck the temple, shattering it to pieces.
The dragon of fire emerged from the rubble, its scales singed and smoking. It looked upon Kiya with a newfound respect, and instead of devouring her, it spoke to her.
"You are the chosen one," it said. "You have been marked by the Great Spirit to bring balance to the elements. You must journey to the ends of the earth and collect the four dragon stones: the stone of fire, the stone of water, the stone of earth, and the stone of air. Only then will you be able to control the dragons and bring peace to Hyperborea."
Kiya set out on her quest, facing many dangers and overcoming many obstacles. But in the end, she succeeded. She collected the four dragon stones and returned to Hyperborea.
With the stones in her possession, Kiya commanded the dragons to stop their destructive ways. They obeyed, and peace was restored to the land. The people of Hyperborea no longer had to fear the dragons, and they built a great statue to Kiya in the center of the village, to commemorate her bravery and her sacrifice.
And so, it is said that as long as the dragon stones remain in Hyperborea, the dragons will never again bring terror to the land. But if the stones were to ever leave, the dragons would once again rise up and unleash their fury upon the world.
