“Artist vs Data” is a meta self portrait. It represents my own journey in trying to find meaning and shape to a set of data, a pure and factual language that I would normally ignore and honestly, intimidated by. I struggled to find a translatable comprehension of the raw numbers and letters presented to me so resorted to physically shifting and moulding their forms conceptually. This artwork represents that resolution of mine, as an artist interpreting the ‘data’: focusing solely on the manipulation of its form and wholly ripping it from its function.
This artwork has been exclusively created for Known Origin’s exhibition in partnership with The Graph at DCentral Miami, a two-day conference where art, fashion and music intersect the future of finance.
