Chapter 3: Honey of the Gods
One day - it wasnāt a very particularly special one when it began - but on that day, a seed was planted.
In the back of the gameroom, where deals were dealt, and coins were bet, five bears sat playing their daily game of poker. Their names were King, Skipper, Spur, Flamingo Don (aka Don Mingo), and Payuh.
āHeard from Culler, the janitor, about some rare honey found on an island next to the Bearmuda Triangle,ā said Payuh, the Hawaiian bear. āIāve never heard of it, but now I want it.ā
āOkay Honey is the nectar of the gods - thereās nothing in the world thatās better than what we have. Impossible,ā scoffed Don Mingo, the pink-furred boss. āCullerās making things up. We all know heās prohibited from our honey fountain ācause heās a criminal.ā
Payuh refuted, āBut arenāt you curious to find out?ā
A silence fell in the room, as the possibility of more and better grew increasingly enticing. We all know a bearās weakness: they never want to miss out.
āHow would we even get there?ā King pondered loudly, shining his gold fur.
Skipper chimed in, āMy yacht is still sitting by the bay. I donāt know how to drive it, or control it - but it canāt be that hard, eh?ā
