Raido is the rune of motion. It brings on the transitions between the four seasons and facilitates the passage of time. It is also the force that controls the four elements – water, air, fire and earth – and makes the formation of matter possible. It can create rhythmic development and controls all cyclic processes. It is represented in the orbit of the Earth around the Sun and in the Moon’s orbit of Earth, which brings about the rhythmic alternation of night and day, and the passing of the seasons.
