Artist Statement by Ishita Banerjee: "Generosity, for me, has always meant opening ourselves up. Whether it is opening up our hands, hearts, or our minds, generosity is a flow of energy, a flow of the tangible and intangible that builds and threads together our common humanity. In my culture, the act of giving is a core principle of Hinduism. An offering can be as little or as much as we wish it to be. It is not bound by rules or notions; rather, it is an act, a feeling, and an emotion. Generosity is a celebration and an embrace. A coming together of giving and receiving, it is the highest form of love, of kindness, and of compassion. It is through generosity that little charged particles of ourselves touch and build a stronger togetherness. Through acts of giving, we evolve into the highest, purest versions of ourselves."
