On this mid-autumn day, we hiked for 6 hours up one of our local mountains, loaded with food and warm gear to camp above the treeline for the night. We weren’t expecting much of the hike to already be covered in early snow, but Pepper was absolutely enthralled by the magical conditions, rolling and romping through the fluffy snow all the way up the trails! We reached the mountain peak just in time for sunset. After quickly setting up our tent, I grabbed the camera and ran through the snow with Pepper, tossing snowballs for him to catch and enjoying the mountain views as the clouds glowed pink all around us. Pepper struck this pose while waiting for me to throw the next snowball, as if he were either planning to catch it in his paw, or offering a high five for a day well spent.
